Background:

My name is Jake and I started M&P Custom Construction in the Summer of 2025. My goal is to build this business from the ground up on a foundation of quality work, integrity, and fair pricing.

As of now I handle all the work and communication behind the business. What this means is that the person you discuss the project with will be the same person doing the estimating, showing up everyday to do the work, and ensuring that the product you’re left with reflects your vision and the core values of the business.

While the business is relatively new, I’ve been doing construction on and off for many years. Out of high school I joined the Air Force. After a 4 year enlistment I went to college and graduated with a B.A. in International Relations from SUNY Geneseo. Upon graduating I joined the carpenter’s union as an apprentice and learned basic construction principles from the most skilled carpenters around. Due the the travel requirements, I ended up leaving that job and became a correction officer for the state. During this time I continued doing projects and side jobs. After 9 years it was time for a change and I wanted to get back to what I truly love…building things.

I see construction as an art form. The tools, materials, and a person’s abilities, are the means to transform an idea into a physical product. The possibilities are endless. I genuinely enjoy the process and take pride in my work.
